The University of Arizona Outreach College is offering an online Greenhouse Plant Physiology Course from August 18 to October 26, 2014, taught by professor Chieri Kubota of the School of Plant Sciences. More information can be found here
This nine-week, noncredit online course will offer students foundational information on the major greenhouse environmental factors affecting plant growth and development. The contents are equivalent to an upper college-level course. Students will understand interactions between plants and their microenvironments, including light penetration and carbon dioxide/water diffusion. Students will learn energy and mass balance of leaves and canopy and correlate these phenomena with plant productivity and related plant physiological mechanisms. They will also learn key micrometeorological principles. Lectures cover controlled environment technologies and practices of plant production in greenhouses and high tunnels. The enrollment must be completed by August 11.
Please see the information in the links below for additional details on the course, along with registration information.
