SIMBA Scale Interface

Dynamic Systems now offers a scale interface for the SIMBA Food & Produce Tracking System. SIMBA (Specialized Inventory Management with Bar Code Accuracy) provides food processors the ability to process, label and track their products from field to customer. The SIMBA scale interface solves the problem of how to produce and track complete product labeling for fresh food on the fly. SIMBA tracks, labels and ships an unlimited number of products. The system automatically generates bills of lading and verifies shipments. SIMBA allows products to be tracked and organized by pallet, lot and case. Inventory can be tracked by location, allowing moves from warehouse to warehouse. SIMBA now interfaces directly with any scale that has a digital output to a serial or USB port. The weight of the carton is automatically added to the database within SIMBA and may be added to the label on the fly. The ability to have this information automatically can save the producer or packer time when processing and packing a high volume of product.

Viking Power

Yamaha Motor Corp. announced the all-new Viking EPS Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicle. The pass-through bucket seating features an offset center position that provides maximum shoulder room for all three occupants. Power comes from a 686cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, fuel-injected engine. Yamaha's three-way On-Command system, featuring 2WD, 4WD and 4WD with differential lock, is a driver-controlled system with an automotive-type rotary dial selector. The Ultramatic transmission with high, low and reverse has dual-speed gearing and an automatic centrifugal clutch that maintains constant belt tension for reduced wear. The optional Electric Power Steering (EPS) system reads steering wheel torque, vehicle speed, On-Command setting and negative feedback to determine the appropriate amount of assist in any given situation. The chassis has nearly 12 inches of ground clearance at the lowest point and a full steel/composite smooth skid plate. The all-new Maxxis Big Horn 2.0 tires provide an optimized balance of sidewall and tread center. The large-diameter front and rear brake discs with dual-piston calipers on all four wheels ensure good balance and power during braking. It also features a rear steel cargo bed, 9.7-gallon fuel tank, assisted dump bed, standard 2-inch receiver hitch and mechanical parking disc brake.
