Nature Safe will introduce 15-0-1 Hi-Sol Organic Nitrogen fertilizer. It is listed with the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) and is ideal to spoon feed organic nitrogen applications for organic growers and nurseries and contains .2 percent iron along with 1 percent soluble potassium that is naturally chelated. The protein concentration of this product exceeds 92 percent or as much as five times more protein per pound than a typical pet food. Available in 40 lb. bags.
Cost Share Programs Benefit Organic Agriculture
The National Organic Certification Cost Share Program (NOCCSP) and the Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) Organic Certification Cost Program are making organic certification more affordable for Pennsylvania farmers through funding. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture secured $453,400 in federal funds through NOCCSP and $163,600 through AMA to reimburse farmers and handling facilities for expenses related to organic certification. Amounts are awarded based off of the number of certified organic operations within each state.

Crops and Soils Field Day at UVM
The University of Vermont (UVM) Extension Northwest Crops and Soils Program will host its annual Crops and Soils Field Day on July 28 in Alburgh, Vermont. Registration will begin at 9:15 a.m. with a guided tour of the farm starting at 10 a.m. Registration deadline is July 22 and the cost is $10 for farmers and $25 for non-farmers. Lunch is included.

Yara has introduced its Yara Water Solution in the U.S., with installations in citrus groves in California and Florida. Yara Water Solution is being validated on citrus crops in these two states to ensure previous sensor calibration is accurate for these markets. They are expected to be available for more widespread North American distribution in the next 12 to 18 months.
