Ohio AgriBusiness Association To Hold Annual Industry Conference
The Ohio AgriBusiness Association will hold its annual industry conference Feb. 1-2, 2017 at the Columbus Marriott Northwest, providing education and networking opportunities for agribusiness professionals, including the OABA Industry Dinner and OABA Annual Meeting. Speakers and industry professionals will share their expertise during the two-day conference. Continuing education units (CEUs) are available for both Certified Crop Advisers and state licensed pesticide applicators that attend the conference. Topics include:

  • Consumer perceptions
  • Generational differences
  • Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
  • Federal worker protection standards
  • Biologicals
  • Nitrogen management
  • Food Safety Modernization Act
  • Algal bloom management
  • Climate variability

Registration fees are $260 ($335 after Jan. 6, 2016) for members and $400 ($475 after Jan. 6, 2016) for non-members.

Sakata Seed Corporation Joins Patent Pool, Vegetable International Licensing Platform
Sakata Seed Corporation will join the Vegetable International Licensing Platform, commonly referred to as ‘ILP,’ a private association with its office in the Netherlands. ILP members make all of their patents related to vegetable breeding traits accessible to their fellow members under the conditions of the ILP. The membership will grant Sakata Seed access to patents for the development of varieties that will enhance our research activities.
