Robinson Fresh has introduced Freshspective, a weekly blog dedicated to news, trends, and happenings in the fresh food space.

As global demand for fresh fruits and vegetables increases, demographics shift, and the competition among food suppliers becomes fiercer and more fragmented, members of the industry are often strapped for both time and resources. Although there are a variety of existing industry blogs that target consumers, the challenges that face growers, retailers, wholesale and food service providers are unique.

Freshspective features posts authored by Robinson Fresh employees, industry experts, and leaders as well as others who support and engage in the fresh produce and cold chain space.

“Part of our job as a market leader in the perishable space is to continue to provide resources that educate our customers, provide thought leadership and provoke meaningful conversations,” said Jim Lemke, president of Robinson Fresh.

Some of the trending topics include what to be aware of in regards to the upcoming Food Safety Modernization Act changes, balancing technology and process in order to better maintain the cold chain, as well as how to increase sales by capitalizing on local produce programs.

The blog’s design encourages readers to subscribe, comment and share the conversation via their social media channels.
