Connecticut Pomological Society Honors Monahan
The Connecticut Pomological Society awarded Tom Monahan, an employee of CPS Retailers, with its annual Award of Merit. Monahan was honored at the society’s annual meeting in December. As a graduate of Washington State University, Monahan’s career in agriculture started on the West Coast. He made his transition to the East Coast in 1988 and began running the integrated pest management program for Nourse Farms in Whately, Mass. After tenures at Valley Green and Terra International, he took a position with UAP, now CPS, in December 1998. In his current role, he is a vegetable and fruit sales consultant. He oversees 83 growers between Massachusetts and Connecticut with a focus on pome fruit and advises growers on crop inputs to help ensure that they receive quality yields, increased profitability and productivity.
