It’s always interesting to hear the unique ideas our readers have when it comes to preparing the foods they spend time growing. Although it’s hard to tell in the St. Johnsbury office, or in Ohio where I’m at, spring is right around the corner. When I say “corner,” I actually mean just a few blocks away (it’s currently minus-7 degrees in Vermont and a tad under 10 degrees in Cleveland). As the new month is getting its legs and we’re gaining more daylight, it’s about that time to start prepping.

March will surely have the days when you’re thinking, “After the seeding and pruning, we can get into it! Oh look… it’s a warm day.” Of course, every region of the country is different, but as I was always taught, patience is key.

So cheers to everyone with preparation on their minds for this upcoming growing season. May you sow more than plenty this go around!
