NYSVGA Unites Growers, Buyers

The New York State Vegetable Growers Association is creating a new Web site to provide information about the state’s vegetable industry and to provide growers and buyers the opportunity to interact. Thanks to a grant from the New York Farm Viability Institute, a new online vegetable shipper directory will provide a platform for buyers to access information regarding vegetable availability. Contact information for growers registered in the directory will be made available to buyers, allowing them discuss products and arrange a sale. Currently, the directory is only available to the group of buyers and growers who volunteered to be a part of the pilot study group for the 2008 growing season. The site will be available to all NYSVGA members and commercial produce buyers for the 2009 growing season. To learn more, visit www.nysvga.org.
