US Agriseeds Builds Brand Recognition in Nafta Market
US Agriseeds recently held its sixth annual exhibition at the Expo Agroalimentaria in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. The expo is an exhibition designed to unite all areas of agriculture, including government entities, educational sectors, suppliers, farmers and more. The company’s technical team, Juan Luis Patiño and Fabiola Novelo, educated growers about effective cultural practices as demonstrated in US Agriseeds’ greenhouses and open field. The vegetable seed supplier also hosted dealer trainings and social events with its Mexico distributors Keithly-Williams Seeds, Champion Seed Company, Gowan Semillas and Semillas Globales.
US Agriseeds will continue to promote its brand to the NAFTA, Central American, South American and global markets by hosting a field day in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, during the first week of February, attending the ASTA Vegetable and Flower Seed Conference, and exhibiting at both the PMA Fresh Summit Expo and Expo Agroalimentaria in 2009.
Filtrona Acquires Lendell Mfg.
Filtrona has acquired the business and assets of St. Charles, Mich.-based Lendell Manufacturing, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of specialized hydrophilic foam product solutions. The Filtrona Porous Technologies division, now comprised of both Filtrona Fibertec and Lendell, will operate as a developer and manufacturer of liquid handling and other specialty, porous components based on fiber, foam and other media. The division will be headquartered in Richmond, Va., with offices and manufacturing locations in Richmond, Va.; Reinbeck, Germany; Ningbo, China; and now St. Charles, Mich.
KIOTI Unveils Dealer Certification Program
KIOTI Tractor has unveiled a new 5-PAW Dealer Excellence Certification Program. The program features five evaluation areas: sales, service and parts, customer satisfaction, issue resolution and facility appearance. As part of their new certification, 5-PAW KIOTI dealers will be advertised as such in trade publications, regional advertisements, on the company’s Web site and through signs, banners and plaques provided to them for display around their showroom. Additionally, special marketing programs will be offered exclusively to these dealers, such as an increase in co-op funding from 50 percent to75 percent reimbursement.
New World Ag Expo Web Site Launched
World Ag Expo, the world’s largest annual farm equipment and agriculture technology exhibition, has launched a newly redesigned Web site at www.worldagexpo.com. Expanded site features include a fully interactive digital show ground interface, digital registration, a photo gallery and video archive, registration for the Toyota Tundra FFA Giveaway, local hotels and restaurants and seminar podcasts.
World Ag Expo occupies more than 2.6 million square feet of exhibit space, hosts more than 1,600 exhibitors and draws an estimated 100,000 attendees over its three-day run.
Gehl Donates to Park, University
Gehl Co. has donated a Gehl 5640E skid loader to help Washington County Fair Park, West Bend, Wis., with events and maintenance of the fairgrounds. Gehl has assisted park officials with needed equipment since the park first opened in 1999. The company has also donated a skid loader to assist the University of Wisconsin-Washington County with campus maintenance and grounds upkeep.
Dosatron Int’l Expands to Hydroponics Market
Dosatron International, Inc., a manufacturer of water-powered, proportional chemical injectors, is expanding operations to encompass the hydroponics market. This move is intended to strengthen the company’s presence in the horticulture market and solidify its position in the fertilizer injection system market. For hydroponic systems, Dosatron injectors can be installed in a greenhouse’s existing water lines. Nutrients can then be diluted and injected directly into the greenhouse watering system.
Leica Geosystems Acquires Rinex Technology
Leica Geosystems’parent company, Hexagon Group of Sweden, has acquired Rinex Technology of Perth, Australia, with an office in the Kansas City area. Rinex is one of Australia’s premier precision agriculture companies, developing and marketing hardware and software for agricultural equipment guidance and implement control. In addition to new product developments, Leica will market and sell the existing Rinex product line.
