The Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA) will host a workshop called “Preparing for Fall & Winter Gardening,” on September 10 at Garden Dreams Urban Farm & Nursery from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The workshop provides attendees with information about how to prepare, plant, manage, and extend the harvest of a variety hardy vegetables.
Bob Madden, Outreach Manager for Garden Dreams Urban Garden & Nursery, will lead the workshop. Mr. Madden brings 8 years of farming experience, 12 years as an environmental and garden educator, as well as training with San Joaquin Outdoor School, Growing Power’s Commercial Urban Agriculture program, and the Rhizome Collective’s Urban Sustainability Training.
According to PASA’s Western Region Program Coordinator, Jessy Swisher, this workshop “will provide growers with important information about what and how to grow throughout the cold season. Mr. Madden’s knowledge and experience, along with his passion for meeting the challenges of food production and stewardship of our natural resources, should be invaluable to attendees.”
This event is open to the public, and registration costs $10 for PASA members and $15 for non-members. For complete information and to register online, click here.
